drawing for filó

The web version of the work created for Bienal Mercosul in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The video installation reconstructs the memory of Filo, Angolan woman living in Porto, Portugal. While left image presents the interview with her about her native landscape, the right one shows the drawing of the landscape. The work questions the truthfulness of our memory as well as our european simplified view on the african continent.

return to the land of arcadia

The film about search for ideal country, utopy, constant happiness... Animation process was created directly with painting on the canvas, each position was painted and repainted. The result are shadows of each movement visible on the canvas: a kind of life and time captured in two dimensional painting.

the night

Video+performance artwork realized for AdA festival in Valencia. Performance by Oto Hudec and Mariana Ribeiro, video/animation by Oto Hudec.
The work is a visual transcription of one couple dreams during one night in their home in London.
The language of dreams served as free working space, where all art forms(animation, video, short cuts from known films and TV, music) can be used without limits.

Performance about feelings of Slovak in Portugal. The Skier was performed at the beach of Foz, Porto, Portugal as a part of AdA festival em acção 2008.

concert for great cold valley

Guitar concert realized in High Tatras, Great Cold Valley, Slovakia. The music was adressed to the mountains, as the audience firstly. I tried to portrait the place through the music in the same way, as i was doing it before in different places with brush and paint. What finally appeared more important than playing was observing and listening to the nature.
The video ends with a capture realized in Porto, Foz beach. The landscape of the mountains is appearing on my hands as a form of fixed memory written into the skin by physical act: guitar playing.

the balcony

This is a chance to see the installation of "balcony" as it was shown in AFAD, Bratislava. The work talks about feelings of a stranger in city of Aquaba, Jordanie. The presence of US army boats, that you can recognize in the video make this feeling stronger. Few days after i left the country, there was a rocket terrorist attack against these boats. My position at the balcony represents my true role in the space: the one of turist and distant observer...
